This is a quietly extraordinary street kitchen that — somehow, incredibly — has an atmosphere of joy. Husband and wife duo Victoria and Vincent Barnett lead a team of smiling volunteers, with stacks of food laid out on the foldable tables in front of them. A DJ blasts music and they...

We are also doing work in Gambia and Sierra Leone!

We are currently building an education centre in Gambia for poor children. We will be teaching them English, maths, photography, social media and music production.

We have recently set up 2 different weekly food supply's in Sierra Leone. Every Friday a local restaurant is supplying 50 wholesome meals to a derelict building, in which 50 homeless women stay, who are extremely sick and vulnerable. And another group of men that are cooking another 30 meals on the street every Friday, feeding themselves and the homeless passing by.

The need for food in Sierra Leone is desperate and I have never experienced or seen anything like it. It's absolutely heart-wrenching.

Please help us to help them, even with a £5 donation you can still make a difference in someone's life!

YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE
IN YOUR COMMUNITY TODAY.

THE BEGINNING

Vincent and Victoria had between them worked quite closely with charities and helped homeless people on the street.  So, they came together and decided that they wanted to do something to make a difference in the local community, namely Tower Hamlets because that’s where they saw a big need for the service. There is a lot of poverty in the area so they decided to start the soup kitchen and it’s gone from strength to strength.

OUR MISSION

At Our Forgotten Neighbours the MISSION is simple: to provide different support avenues to as many people in need as our resources allow; regardless of their circumstances.  We also help ensure that refugees are not ‘forgotten’ and our support is focused on the goods and services that refugees need most. The Soup Kitchen provides healthy and nutritious meals to all who come through its doors on multiple sites on a weekly basis as well as care packs which contain the essential items that a homeless person could need therefore providing some stability that allows them to focus on improving their situation.  Our Forgotten Neighbours is committed to improving the quality of life of some of the most vulnerable people within our communities and by doing so restoring their dignity.
